Everytime I've been here theres been a dark haired female employee who has always made me feel uncomfortable by her attitude towards customers. She has been rude repeatedly to me as well as others that I have witnessed and heard stories of. I will now be using greyhound due to the lack of respect.

Paid a rediculous price only to be told that because the train was full I had to keep my suitcase and bag with me .( Three racks had plenty of room for baggage though) Both of my trains were late and then delayed again during the trip. Then when I go to find my seat only to have someone else sitting in it who began mumbling about it being his spot so he could continue to cuddle his girlfriend . They check tickets see he should be in another seat and APOLOGIZED to the man who tried lying about his seat . Meanwhile I have now been standing with bags for about 5 minutes with the train moving while the man and his girlfriend continue to try to argue. Not worth the money. I will never be taking Via again! I see why nobody else does now .

First time seeing the station in person other then the few times I've rode the Via train to Montreal. Was staying in Belleville for a few days this passed week (7th-10th). Was in the station on the Wed (8th), the lady that was working there came and asked me if I was waiting for a train which i said no. she asked me if I had gotten off a train which again I said no (I was just train watching). she then said that she was closing the station (I had looked at the station hours but couldn't remember the times). I asked if I could stay inside which the lady said no. she wasn't very friendly. You'd think that Via station people would be friendly. but this lady was not. Via should have a nice chat with her for people who do not live in the Belleville area. But moving on, I grabbed my bag and went outside tho it wasn't that cold that day. I didn't feel like sitting outside for an hour till the station opened again. the station should always be open during the cold months till the last train or so of the evening time, but just have the ticket desk close. Other then that, the station is nice. but not the greatest spot for train watching. I wouldn't go there again for that.

Horrible, horrible experience. Date: February 2 2019. Situation: Trains 52 and 62 from Toronto at a standstill for six and a half hours near Brighten. Eventually 150 frustrated passengers arrived at the next station, Belleville. Does not deserve 1 star. My complaints are not about the above situation, but our treatment at Belleville station by the staff or rather lack of it. There were several older people among us who struggled over that notorious bridge. On the other side of the tracks there was one information lady for 150 tired passengers arriving simultaneously. I cannot comment on her as the line-up never seemed to move. I could not get near. Did we proceed by bus or train? Nobody could/would answer. There was one small, dark-haired lady (the same one in the review below?) in charge of the Montreal bus who treated me as if I did not exist, turning her back on me. There was one fellow in charge of the Ottawa bus who claimed to know nothing. I saw no special notice board about what we should do. I was going neither to Montreal nor Ottawa but got no information. Eventually a train did arrive going my way, which I boarded with no help from the staff. Where or where was the stationperson, or whoever was in charge? I have deliberately waited two weeks before I wrote this review but still feel the same way. So my complaints about Belleville station. Lack of staff in an emergency that even CBC website knew about well in advance, lack of communication by staff, incivility of treatment by staff. Shame on you Belleville!

Very helpful staff!!! And for the amount of feet that strum across the ground, daily. The place is cleaner than most stations I've waited or through.

Belleville Station is one of the most beautiful train stations I have ever come across as it easily beats Ottawa, Montreal and Jonquière in terms of cleanliness and sharpness. The recently renovated main building stands beside the historic train station. The only thing that is missing is a small restaurant or convenience store inside.

Cleanest & brightest VIA Station ever! Professional and friendly staff help with your train adventure! Given the restraints' that COVID is inflicting on everyone - it's surprisingly refreshing to find people at the station, trying to make your journey as best they can. I have seen some reviews saying that the area is not the best. That is not the point - the station does what it does impeccably in a safe a contentious manner.
