If one is looking for peace and tranquility from the hustle and bustle of daily life, this is the perfect location for that country style getaway experience. Sheryl is so very welcoming and accommodating. The same can be said for the spotless and gorgeously decorated cabin that instantly feels like a home away from home inside and out...And those beds are so deliciously comfortable! My husband and I have stayed at this beautifully maintained property twice now while visiting Alberta. Once in the summer and once in the winter season. We have thoroughly enjoyed the comfort of it all each time and can see why so many birds and other wildlife have made this property their safe haven as well. I'm not much of a winter person, but nothing since has topped the serenity I felt during our last winter stay there. It was quite cold and snowing alot during most of the days we were there, so while my husband was out attending meetings, I would make a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and nestle myself the couch with my book or laptop. It was so quiet and comfy being surrounded by the warmth of the fireplace and cozy decor. Watching the snow fall outside the huge front windows just added to the natural beauty of it all. We are very pleased to recommend Beaver Hills Retreat to our family and friends. We certainly plan return to stay there again!

Both of our stays here were amazing. To start with the accommodations were extremely clean, modern with a cozy cottage feel and with excellent amenities. A birders paradise with a Purple Martin sanctuary. Well groomed trails around the property and a dark night sky allowing for perfect milky-way observation as well as astrophotography. Lots of wildlife. Within minutes of Elk Island National park. Perfect get away for nature lovers who still appreciate the comforts of luxurious accommodations. In the country, but close enough to the city. A must stay. Five stars all the way. I highly recommend

If you are looking for a beautiful, relaxing, and quiet place to stay, this is the place. I've stayed here numerous times with different types of personalities, and everyone has loved this place. Even our dog loves Beaver Hills Retreat and told us that he wanted to move in. Whether you want to be in nature all day or watch Netflix in a modern, well-kept home in the country, you will be satisfied. You are surrounded by the sounds of nature. The traffic around there is minimal. It's almost surprising to hear a vehicle going by during the day. Over the years, I've seen Sheryl and her husband continuously update this property and cabin/home we would want to live in. They have thought about everything, and make privacy and comfort a priority. We always hear moose and coyotes and see deer and hawks. And of course there are tons of other birds, including the Purple Martins that fly around the property all day. I'm someone who is scared of birds in general (mostly those blackbirds that attack everyone (or just me?) during nesting) but I never feel scared on this property. They swoop by you sometimes when you are on a walk in the back of the property, but they are not aggressive. We even had two birds sit with us while we were having a fire. There are horses in the next property that we often see. There's a firepit surrounded by the coolest lights. So you can either have a fire with beautiful lights surrounding you or turn off the lights and stare at the stars. The kitchen is stocked and has everything you need to cook whatever you want to bring. Both beds are comfortable to sleep in. I always bring my computer and work here a bit. There's a little workspace in the loft and the internet works great. In short, I highly recommend going here if you want a beautiful place to stay in with all the comforts of home, but away from any kind of hustle and bustle.

From the moment we entered the property it was the most beautiful relaxing scenery, an amazing private place to get away. The cabin is immaculate, clean, warmest feeling, and has everything needed for a perfect get away. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a retreat from the city or any reason.

If you are looking for groomed walking trails, pure country air and peaceful surroundings this is the place for you! Fall asleep to coyotes howling in the distance and wake up to the sweet sound of songbirds! The trees and grass at Beaver Hills Retreat are meticulously manicured and the beautiful flowers and planters set the ambiance for a totally relaxing stay. A 5 minute drive takes you to the peaceful Astotin lake. We love renting kayaks when the conditions are right. Elk Island Park is fantastic! This retreat books up fast, don't wait. They can book months in advance.

I have visited this little corner of "heaven on earth" several times - this time I brought my mom along (delayed Mother's Day gift). The cabin as always was impeccably clean upon arrival. Mom immediately commented on the cozy cabin feeling and thoughtful touches....treats, welcome card, bath items. I always look forward to seeing Sheryl and she checked in with us shortly after arrival. Sheryl took us for a quick stroll and spent time educating us about the birds on the property. Mom was thrilled with all the activity of the feathered population she observed during our time out there. We made use of the trails on the property and also took an afternoon trip out to Elk Island Park to do a bit of walking. The skies were amazingly clear at night so ample opportunity to enjoy star filled skies....still hoping that the Northern Lights will appear when I'm out here sometime! We both had an amazing few days out here - nature is truly restorative medicine. It was a blessing to see Mom so relaxed and comfortable, just enjoying the change in surroundings after the last couple of years. Thank you Sheryl for your attentiveness to detail and checking in, chatting with Mom - your thoughtfulness was very much appreciated. Highly recommend this retreat for 10+/10 getaway - you won't be disappointed!
