โ โ โ โ โ Would have been nice to know where you had moved, since your phone is totally useless to me can hear what is being said on your automated system and have re- register every six months. Had appointment in Richmond went to your old office at 4330 Kingsway, no one seem to know where you had moved to. Great way to conduct business.

โ โ โ โ โ They lost the info I submitted, have no way to check if the file is being processed at their office. Hopefully I'm not homeless as result of them losing my file and forcing me to wait another 2 weeks+ to hear if I was accepted.

โ โ โ โ โ I have often wondered why people are waiting so long for suitable accommodations,,,, my sister has worked for b.c housing for a number of years, she's explained to us during Christmas dinner, the housing registry has been ordered to put all migrants before all others... I understand these migrants have left unimaginable horrors behind in their home countries, however,,, I personally don't think its fair to put all these people before actual Canadian citizens who have been waiting so many years for accommodations, especially the homeless and the elderly... I have completely lost faith in our government, its clear the provincial and federal government has fogot about its people, they put everyone else before actual canadians.. shame on the provincial and federal levels of government... ?

They need more federal funding with the sky rockitning rent hikes.They want to keep clients housed safe and affordable for all.

โ โ โ โ โ Very slow work in processing requests. I hope to pay more attention to those with psychological problems and pay more attention to my file. For more than a year I submitted it and I never received any response.

โ โ โ โ โ I have been fortunate and have recieved housing. I can provide some tips for you here. If you are at any high risk such as fleeing abuse etc. you need to ask for an additional application called a SUPPLEMENTAL FORM you fill this out along with your other BC Housing application and submit them together, or if you have an application already in go back and request the supplemental form and it will be added to your file. This Supplemental Form puts you up quite a few notches when your on a wait list.
Also another tip, make sure you provide all the paperwork required and keep any changes to income or rent updated on your file whenever something changes. This helps keep the file active. For those who think that you need to go in looking poor and crying your eyes out with a story I suggest you don't. Instead go in clean and decently dressed and let your paperwork do the talking. The people at the front counter can't help you get in any sooner. When you get called for a building that you choose dress well again and explain your detailed story to the person interviewing you and that's who makes the decisions about what building and what suite your going to get. They are usually called the Property Portfolio Mgr. but sometimes it's their assistant D processes your paperwork. So if they call you that means you have a place and always be grateful for that because I sure am.
