★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bata island is a beautiful park which is marred by being in the middle of Frankford Ontario and right near an outdoors shooting range which is in use every time that I have visited this park, thereby ruining the experience. Further, the people whose backyards face this park are also obsessive noise makers and can be found mowing their lawns with lawn tractors in late October when their grass is only about one quarter inch long and allowing their grass to grow a bit is recommended by all gardening books. The people with noisy lawn tractors are also friends with the persons who shoot in the shooting range. Further I have seen actual hunters in this park, which makes the park dangerous for non hunters not dressed in reflective vests.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an oft-forgotten but beautiful little spot. It's a lovely walk all year round. The trail is nice, I've taken my Small Human in the jogging stroller all around the trail, but I don't think it is wheelchair accessible/friendly. Stay on the trail though, there is poison ivy.
It's also a good/safe place to park to access the rail trail ?
