About Barrett Veterinary Practice
Dr. Beth Barrett graduated in 1988 from the veterinary program at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. Over the next 15 years she practiced on the racetrack in Winnipeg, owned a mixed practice in Claresholm, went back to teach at the vet school in Saskatoon, and worked doing locums in various clinics in Calgary. She developed a special interest in reproductive work and worked extensively for several years doing laparoscopic surgery on sheep, goats and deer in China, Mexico, Tobago and and the Bahamas.
For the past 10 years she has focused on Barrett Veterinary Practice, a (mostly) small animal and equine practice in Dalemead.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Barrett's Vet was terrific. My dog's appointment was on time and everyone was very nice. Having my dog go in without me was perfectly fine and she came out very happy! The vet texted me during the exam and I felt very confident how it was going. Afterwards she came out to talk to me as I had additional questions and social distancing was in place. I am definitely going back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Barrett veterinarian is THE BEST veterinary clinic paws down!! I live in Calgary and will always go out of the city to this veterinary clinic. They love and care about your animals, it's not about the money here, it's all about your babies. I always recommend them to family and friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can’t set enough great things about these folks! Not only are they affordable, they are honest and they truly care. I was told my dog would lose her eye due to an ulcer and they fixed her right up, saved her eye and didn’t break my bank either. I wish there were more honest and caring vets like this out there. This will be the place I take all my furkids going forward. So grateful to have found this lovely practice! 12/10 recommend!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I cannot tell you the love I have for Barrett's vet clinic. This is the vets office we should have been going to all Charlie's life. they are incredible!
I almost lost Charlie just over a month ago and our old vet would have told us to go to an emergency vet we didn't know. Dr. Mikaela took charlie when he was too weak to walk or stand, days after we were there with what we thought was a stomach problem. He was on fluids a few times that week, went home and was keeping an eye on him when things when downhill really fast over night. By morning he couldn't stand or walk. He was so weak and tiny, I was a complete mess when my husband took him in, I wasn't sure I was going to see my baby again. Charlie is my heart so I was devistated. She worked hard all day and the next night while he was on fluids and ran tests and she thought kidney or Addisons. It ended up being confirmed but Addison's is something that is missed so much and that could have cost Charlie his life. Mr Mikaela and all the staff at Barrett are amazing. I wouldn't have my bear if not for them. He loves them as much as they love him and you can really tell they care for their patients, it VERY clear. I will never go anywhere else. Not to mention I like taking my other dog for a walk in the country while we wait, the peace and tranquility out there is so calming.
Thank you Dr Mikaela and team, Charlie, Lucy, Tom and I love you all and couldn't apprecaite you more <3 *ps they do love each other although you couldn't tell.
Thank you for letting be able to celebrate Charlie's 9th birthday only a week after you saved his life XO

Not only did she get in with in a few days, Barret was so kind and helped us through the whole processes so well. everything was very upfront and nothing hidden about what she needed and the cost. I was very appreciative for the kindness and swiftness of this clinic. thank you so much for giving Chai her smile again <3
