★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Barkwood Forest is a dream! It's so much nicer than public dog parks...clean, lots of trees, lots of trails, and the other dogs have all been sociability assessed! While the sociability assessment doesn't guarantee there won't ever be a scuffle, it has removed the fear of very unpredictable dogs that we experienced at public parks.
The facilities are so well thought out...double-gated entrance, groomed trails in all seasons, water stations, poop bins at most intersectios, plenty of maps and foot bridges over really wet areas!
However, the best part about Barkwood is the community! We are a like-minded group that watch out for each other! There's always a hello and a wave! But, was there ever any doubt? Dog people are the BEST!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If I could give 10 stars I would. If you are looking for a safe place, with beautiful groomed trails, great dogs and people, and huge areas to play fetch, this is the place for you. Our dogs love it and so do we. Not only is it exercise for them but also for us. Being able to get out and walk for acres along beautiful trails during every season with our dogs off leash and knowing they are safe is the most important thing to us. It is such a great place and Kevin, his team and family make sure all our fur families are safe while having a great time playing and roaming in the forest.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My dog absolutely loves it. And it was never crowded, other than a bit drive from home, I'd love to bring my puppy there everyday. It's a great place to train recall and just let your dog run without having to worry about anything.

The trails are lovely, the dogs are so friendly and everyone respects nature and cleans up after their fur babies. As soon as my work day is done, I hit the road with miss G for some canine therapy. Thanks to Kevin and Heidi for creating this little slice of heaven.
