★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Headed up with the family to Bala Ontario for the first time for a week of sun and Lake Muskoka fun at a VRBO rental cottage, I met Gordon, Dorothy and Brock on day 1 when I needed to launch my seadoos, I also stored a trailer for the week, purchased lots of fuel, had a repair done and rented a pontoon boat!!! I pretty much experienced everything Bala Cove Marina had to offer. I found all the staff courteous , friendly and very helpful...Thank you for the great experience!!! A special Hello to TOBY the awesome Border Collie and mascot at the marina!!!! Hope to see you guys next year for another stay! This time Ill let Dorothy find me the cottage!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Called ahead to rent paddle board and kayak. Arrived and it took almost 15 min for anyone to ask us what we needed. There was only one paddle board that wasn't the best quality. I asked to exchange for something else I was told I could look at the side to see what else was over there. I found a kayak but I needed to carry it over and I asked for help but noone answered. All 3 staff seen me struggling with it because there were things in the way and I needed to get around other rentals etc and no clear path. No help offered. No easy spot to get the rental into the water. No safety kite with whistle for emergencies or rope. I would definately not recommend anyone use this place for rentals of kayaks or paddle boards !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bala Cove, thanks for your part in making our family vacation on Lake Rosseau the best. You were right, the deck boat recommended was perfect for evening cruises and day-time tubing/wakeboarding. Thanks for the convenient delivery and pickup to/from the closest marina.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When it comes to service at Bala Cove Marina, Dorothy, Gord and mechanic Brock are VERY attentive and work diligently to please. If I have an issue with one of our boats, they call me back right away and do their best to solve my problem quickly - you can't ask for more than that. They are mechanical experts and I trust them with my storage routines and winterizing work. Finally - they do their best to be flexible in being available to help me 'gas up' the boat. That's important too! Overall five star service !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rented 3 paddleboards and 3 kayaks from here a few week's ago. Can't say enough about the friendly staff (Aussies) and the owner was really friendly. We will definitely be back next summer to rent SUP's and some kayaks. Would highly recommend. They also do tubing!! Maybe next year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Booked “ The Barbie” for our group of 10 over the summer. The check in process was slow and took longer than anticipated. But once we got going , it was smooth sailing. Our only complaint is that there was no ladder for the boat so it was extremely difficult to get back on when we went swimming. Overall a good experience and can’t wait to come back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfriendly and lackadaisical staff. No normal greeting or smiles on arriving to ask about launching a Seadoo. Slow to even come attend to anyone even though 2-3 parties clearly waiting for help/inquiries. They made us feel we were inconveniencing them. Maybe this marina only caters to longstanding customers and not any new visitors looking to enjoy the Muskoka region.
Unclear, unreliable and poor communication around Seadoo repairs and costs leading to sticker shock and cornering customers. Rather than following through on their promise to call us for permission to replace/repair a part when they found the problem, they proceeded on their own. We had to phone in for a status update to find out what happened and then told the final bill. No apologies for not calling beforehand but just excuses of being busy and “how things are done around here”. They only recourse they offered us when we pushed was to remove the new battery but charge us full labour. So we kept the battery as we did not want any further delays since we were heading home.
A kind cottage neighbour towed us to the marina when our Seadoo ran into trouble. This was completely a private arrangement. The marina staff had the gall to claim “our bill was already pretty cheap considering they waived the towing fee”… even though our neighbour had nothing to do with the marina.
Be it in Muskoka or “the city” every customer and client should be afforded clear and transparent business practices. As a “newcomer” take your watercraft and wallet elsewhere if you get a choice. If its an emergency… be prepared.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just received our first ( new ) pontoon boat from Bala Cove Marina ! We are first time boaters and we are thrilled with the customer service we got form Dorothy and Gord and their always friendly staff !! Dorothy was always on the ball with getting back to us on email and we can’t say enough good about our experience with everyone at the marina !!! If you consider a boat purchase we will definitely recommend Bala Cove Marina !
