They opened late, leaving another fellow and myself waiting past their posted opening time. The product I needed was in stock, as suggested by their supplier, whom I deal with regularly. Their price was 30% higher than their local competitor, and I asked for a price match, which was difficult given that three dogs were barking at me, and the woman behind the counter was yelling at the dogs. The customer service person who "helped" me was rude and abrupt and was unwilling to work with me. I was in the store all of thirty seconds before being sworn at, called a liar and told to leave. The other customers who'd given up on waiting, returned from walking his dog, asked me "why no batteries?" I told him their prices were too high and that I was told to leave. The man who kicked me out of the store, came outside to continue to yell at me, "took my licence plate number" and told me to never come back. I am okay with that. Edit: I have spoken with the store owner, he has, as stated in his response that he has checked the price with his local competitor whom I asked him to match. He did not get the correct price, nor correct product when phoning his competition. In doing so, he has felt justified in continuing his harrassment by leaving me a two minute long voice-mail In which he swears, threatens me with lawsuits, calls me a liar, threatens to destroy my livelihood as a small business owner (quote "I can go and start f@cki** around with your business and F@ckin% around with your income.... please I'm going to ask you nicely to remove your review or I'm going to fu@#in# sue you") etc and continues to paint me as an aggressive, unpredictable, potentially violent individual in his response below. I might suggest that the reason you fear atta ls and crime upon your business has alot to do with your over the top aggressive behavior.It is my experience that most businesses appreciate Intel on what their competitors sell their product for, and appreciate a chance to make a sale. This was not the case. I was happy to leave the store. And had I been able to do so without being chased out, id have left no negative review. Other Google reviews indicate similar experiences. The item in question is an Interstate GC2 golf cart battery for which Aztec quoted me at $230. The marine store downtown sells this battery for 179.99, everyday retail price, they are a local family owned business. It pays to shop around, for price and service, and it's even better when the owners don't harass you for doing so.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience dealing with this locally owned business. I take pride to support local businesses as my parents and my self have been local business owners for 40 years; however, I will not be supporting this business in the future and don’t recommend this company if you have any expectations as a satisfied customer. The female co-owner was very aggressive over the phone and perhaps aggressive is the wrong word. It was as if she was upset with me that I had a propane fridge that was purchased from Costco. I wasn’t the purchaser but was having an issue with the fridge nonetheless. The woman cut me off several times as I tried to explain what I was looking for so she could complain about how Costco is stealing their business since they started selling Unique brands and that at Aztec they don’t help Costco customers. After painfully listening to her rant, I was able to determine they had the thermocouple in stock that I needed. I paid for the part over the phone and and had my friend pick it up as I live in an off grid remote location. At no time during the phone call and purchase, did she mention they have a NO REFUND, IN Store credit only policy. It was disappointing because I had also been given a universal thermocouple from my dad and it had worked! I was pleased to not need the $100 thermocouple from Aztec, except when I saw the attached receipt that had their NO REFUND policy. I figured it was no big deal since I own an eco lodge with several off grid cabins it would be nice to see the store for myself and see what types of appliances and off grid items they have available. As I approached the counter, the female co-owner I spoke with on the phone came to help me. I hadn’t thought I was being aggressive towards her as my intention was to ask for a refund of the part despite the store’s NO REFUND policy. But within seconds of me talking, the woman started to rant and rave at me, pointing to the NO Refund signs in the store and then getting extremely angry at me, yelling....it was unclear if I would be getting any refund, but at this point I didn’t care. I had my hands up to indicate I surrender and did not want to engage in this type of hostile interaction. I told her that I had to leave the store because she was yelling at me. The male co-owner was in the store at the time, he did nothing, and after I left the store she carried on with a raised voice ranting at him about me while I stood outside the store for a couple of moments. I shook my head and drove away. About 15 minutes later, I receive a call from the man at the store saying he will refund my money in full despite their policy and the usual 25% (yes, 25%!) Restocking fee. I told him I appreciated that but he could charge me the restocking fee even tho I hadn’t been advised the return policy over the phone and the part had clearly been unopened. Within moments, he was also defending his female partner and was telling me they were banning me from their store. I don’t quite understand why the hostility towards me but it was laughable how these two behaved. I am surprised to see good reviews on here as my experience was completely horrible. I am so thankful I did not buy a large purchase from them as I could imagine how horrible it would be to deal with them. I will continue to support locally owned businesses but felt obliged to warn others about the terrible customer service and experience I had at this store.

I purchased a solar kit from Aztec and had problems with getting it to work. Ron was very helpful, spending all morning working on my unit trying to find the problem. It came down to a defective battery which I had not purchased from Aztec. They sent me on my way without charging for the work. Their only concern was making me happy and getting the unit to work properly. Good products, excellent service.

Have been dealing with this company for the past 3 years. Been great to work with. Solar installs are very well organized and planned out. Ron has also been able to help us find products we needed for our ham radio club's power needs. Great company to work with.

We purchased a propane range from Aztec after seeing it online. Ron worked with me by providing answers to my questions. He also manufactured the proper propane line for us. All we had to do was unpack, install and we have a great working propane stove. I am very satisfied with this service experience.

My partner and I have been doing business with Aztec for a couple years now and it's time we posted a review letting those who search for these comments how excellent their services are. We really can't say enough about how superb the customer service is and are always amazed by Ron and his team of skilled and warm co workers! Time and time again we have been challenged by a seemingly impossible situation and they have come through. An example: We wanted to fix and find parts for an on demand water heater and discovered that both repair and parts for many models are incredibly hard to find. Not only did Ron find the parts but he also helped us with the maintenance of the heater and returned it to us in like new condition with a very fair price for both labour and parts. This is only one instance of how devoted he and his staff are to going the extra mile to help you with your off the grid solutions. We rarely write reviews but wanted to put this one in to urge you if you are reading this to know that goin to them for the products and services they offer will leave you feeling very well cared for and back again the next time you are looking for the best in off the grid products and services. A very big thank you to you Ron and everyone else at Aztec for all that you do! We will be back and hope that sharing this message will give those of you who are new to their business and looking for someone reliable to help absolute confidence in contacting them!

What is interesting is the owner is very defensive and unable to accept constructed critisism from anyone. Ranty long long defensive replies. Love the no nonsense approach from Amazon and big box stores like Costco.

We had Ron install an inverter and batteries to compliment the solar panels on our fifth wheel. Unfortunately, we did experience a couple of (unavoidable) glitches. When we informed Ron of them, he identified the problem, and promptly fixed them. We are very satisfied and would recommend their service.
