The place exceeded our expectations. Very charming ambiance and service was excellent. Food was top quality and delicious! Highly recommend the meat pie, maple bread pudding, and the onion soup. I got the menu of the day, which was excellent value for money and the selections were great. Highly recommend this place!

The historic Maison Jacquet was one of the largest houses in upper-town back in it’s day, and is currently the oldest standing houses in Quebec as it was built in 1675. We ate here last night and it felt like eating in a museum rich in history. Bruno (cook) and Alex( server) took good care of us. The meal was incredible, huge portions, nicely presented and flavourful. My wife who is from the Czech Republic said the meal reminded her of being back home. We went with the full meal deal appetizer (poutine, French onion soup) main (meat pie, pork knuckle, meat balls) , dessert (crème brûlée, maple pie (same baker has been making the same maple pie for the past 40 years) , and drink ( local boreal Quebec beer, and wine)! Wow it was so filling, but oh so good, and Very good value for the price you pay! Before dessert we toured the house, I was amazed by the artifacts throughout the house. Bathroom is located upstairs, but there is a railing. Sidewalks were completely slippery due to freezing rain, If you can manage to get in to this place, it’s definitely worth opening up the door for a delicious meal.

Great food and value for money. We tried the lunch and found it way more value for money than the other restaurants we had tried on the St. Louis and around streets. Even the ambience is very soothing and the staff explained the 3 course meal options well. We ended up having lunch there 2 of the 4 days we stayed at Quebec city. Super recommend it. MAPLE PIE is a musssst have, it was just fantastic!!

Loved the experience. Food was pretty good and our waiter was attentive too. This is also a pretty charming historic house to visit, one of the oldest buildings in Quebec. Reservations are strongly recommended during busy times.

Fantastic restaurant for French Canadian cuisine. Everything we ordered was good. The beef wellington and their meat pies are delicious and full of flavour. The maple bread pudding is one of the best I've ever had. Absolutely a must try when in Quebec. Their price fix menu offers great value.

Had two meals at this place during my trip to Quebec City. Located in a quaint building, atmosphere is great. Also waiter and waitress were very friendly and energetic. Price for the lunch special is a fairly good deal. My favourites were the onion soup, beef Wellington and maple syrup pie. The meat pie I tried another day was also good. Maple brûlée was good too but a little bit too sweet for me (most likely because I don’t really have a sweet tooth). Also the food comes in great portion so I’d suggest go there with an empty stomach :)

Amazing experience! The 3 meats meal was tender and so worth the expense. Dessert the chocolate pie with salted caramel divine.

Authentic french restaurant. We got the daily special which comes with the soup , the entree and the dessert along with a house wine or beer We got the bison entree which was spectacular to go with the fresh creamy onion soup . We tasted the apple wine for the first time and loved it and the maple syrup pie is to die for. The food seems to be a little pricey but the experience of tasting some authentic food along with the energetic servers simply serves the purpose. And they speak perfect english to help tourists like us. Located in the street of old Quebec, highly recommended!!
