Huge fan of the architecture. Felt there could have been more to see in terms of art, but that's not why I initially came anyway.

This is one of the most amazing buildings in Whistler almost worth a visit just to see it. Entry to the Gallery is $20 which seems expensive to me given the fairly restricted content but I must admit that could be my preference. It was intersting to see the historical artwork showing a picture of Canadian Native life. Personally I didn't appreciate the more modern photographic art where there are better museums in my opinion. If you want local to Whistler Artists then go to the various Gallery's in the main street and enjoy browsing.

A hidden gem in Whistler, this museum is incredibly quiet. Absolutely stunning originals by Emily Carr and several even more stunning pieces by the First Nations, local history and multimedia installations. They receive different exhibits over time too. There are lockers for you to leave your stuff and your winter jackets. Near the entrance there is a small shop that offers a selection of pieces from just $5 to $15k+, thereโ€™s stuff for all budgets. A must go in Whistler. Conveniently located with plenty of parking and easy access from the village if you prefer to walk.

Great permanent collection of local artists including Emily Carr and E.J. Hughes, as well as temporary exhibitions. The architecture is quite amazing and looks beautiful in the snow.

It was a stunning outrรฉ building with a gorgeous alderwood-clad interior. The exhibits were diverse with a constant Indigenous thread connecting them. My favorite was the Emily Carr room. So bright and colorful. I didn't know she painted some works in France. A must see.

Ever since I heard about this place I wanted to visit. But there was COVID, and also the restriction of needing winter tires between October and March. In a civilised country there would be all day everyday electric trains between Vancouver and Whistler, but this is Canada. So we booked a hotel for two nights. One might be enough. We were about 90 minutes in the museum. The permanent collection is very impressive - lots of Emily Carr and Group of 7. But the indigenous art is what really grabbed me. I even bought the book of the Dempsey Bob exhibit. The architecture is also arresting. You should go.

Very charming and beautiful museum that celebrates indigenous arts and culture, and features amazing works of local artists. Definitely doesnโ€™t have a โ€œwowโ€ factor like museums in bigger cities, but if you are interested and curious about the local art scenes, itโ€™s worth it to check it out. Aside from the artworks, the museum features impressive architectural work and a blend of indoor-outdoor design.
