About Attic Master Insulation Ltd
Attic Master Insulation is a family-owned and operated business, now into its fourth decade. Founded by Dennis and Cathy Holowach in 1977, ownership was transferred to their son Tyler in 2008. In 2022 Attic Master Insulation has merged with Prairie Eco Tech to provide a wider range of services for your home. Kristen Hjelkrem is now the day to day manager and lead estimator, with Tyler acting in an advisory capacity.
From day one, Attic Master Insulation has exclusively used blown-in Weathershield cellulose insulation, manufactured by Can-Cell Industries, right here in Edmonton.
The most environmentally-friendly insulation product on the market today, cellulose is made of 85% recycled material treated with non-toxic additives to provide resistance to fire, fungi, corrosion and pests. Weathersheild cellulose provides a superior level of thermal-resistance (R-value) to fiberglass products. It also carries Environment Canada's Eco-Logo as a certified green building product.

From the initial visit to provide a quote to top up the original insulation in my house through the crew that arrived to complete the work, they were all extremely professional and efficient. They were on time, per quote, and completed within the period for the work. The crew was very diligent to ensure no damage to the house with the entire path matted to prevent contamination of the house. They answered all questions that I had. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We experienced major moisture issues in our attic due to improper ventilation and the harsh freeze thaw cycle we experience in Edmonton every year. After having an independent inspection completed to determine the cause of our ventilation issues, we started searching for contractors to remedy our situation. Our problem was complicated as we needed remediation (removal of our old insulation and any possible mold), installation of proper ventilation (to prevent this from happening again), followed by replacement of insulation and roofing/shingles. It became clear fairly quickly that this was going to be a nightmare!
This was before we found Attic Master Insulation Inc. Tyler from Attic Master came out to our home the very day that we called him to assess the situation and to provide us with suggestions. From his previous experience, he knew the headaches that we would be facing to coordinate the various trades to ensure each part of the job would be completed in a timely manner so that we wouldn't be without a roof over our heads! Tyler was able to draw on his professional relationships with reputable tradespeople and coordinated every part of our project.
From the first visit to the end of our project, Attic Master kept us well informed as to what was happening and what to expect next. Everyone who worked on our home was courteous and professional and the worksite was left tidy at the end of every day. At the end of the entire project, Tyler even gave us photos showing the various stages of the work that had taken place because who is really going to crawl around in their attic to look around? We are very confident we made the right choice by having Attic Master Insulation work on our home and would recommend them to anyone needing this type of work done.

In order for our products to excel and perform to their maximum, they require a well insulated attic. We have tried out a few insulation contractors over the years.
