I was impressed with how quickly my daughter advanced in her swimming classes. She was confident and was pushed to her abilities. Great instruction.

2 years ago my then 41/2 yr old grandson took instructions with the instructor at Ar-Lin's, his abilities in the water improved so great in such a short time. He is excited to know he is signed up to go again in August. Thanks to all for relieving some of my worries of his safety in a boat or any body of water that even with a life jacket is of huge concern. Thank you and see you soon Leslie Crouch And grandson

I'd prefer to share a positive review on a local small business however, I can not when we had such a poor experience with both the swimming instructors and the owner herself. The instructors brought my daughter, and others in the class, to tears several times. Not only do they bark orders and treat the children like they are in military training, they refuse to provide feedback on how the children can improve their technique or what they should work on, despite being asked after every class. Perhaps they're coached to not provide this valuable feedback so the children do not pass to ensure repeat business? I understand that swimming lessons are to be taken seriously and that Ar-Lin is teaching lifesaving skills, but kindness and constructive feedback, especially when requested from a paying client, is important as well. When asked to clarify remarks noted on the report card, the owner got extremely defensive and repeated several times that she's "been in business since the 70's and to go take lessons though the city if unhappy with our style". (This was something I overheard her say several times during the actual swimming lessons as well.) I reiterated that I wasn't questioning the swimming school's ability, I just wanted to understand what my child should work on to improve. "My instructors do not have time to provide feedback and your child should know where they're failing" was her response. This is absurd. How does one improve when one does not know what is being done wrong? The owner's reaction, language, and lack of professionalism and client relations is extremely disappointing. Her immediate defensiveness, unwillingness to listen, and jumping to conclusions makes me think that she's likely heard this very feedback before. In my various interactions with her, she was not receptive to anything but praise. Although my daughter's swimming ability and technique improved during her time at Ar-Lin Aquatics, we will not return due to the poor way we both were treated by the instructors and the owner herself.
