Natural gas outages are very rare, but they do occur from time to time. There are two types of natural gas outages, planned and unplanned.

  • Planned outages often happen because of construction or maintenance work required to keep our system reliable and safe. We will take all reasonable steps to notify you of any planned outages well before they occur.
  • Unplanned outages happen when something interferes with the system from the outside, for example, if someone were to hit a gas line while digging.

Our priority during any outage is to get the system back up as quickly and safely as possible. This includes assisting customers with relighting any natural gas appliances.

Updates for unplanned outages are posted below, or on our Twitter and Facebook. If your natural gas supply has been interrupted and you need immediate assistance, please call our emergency contact number at 1-866-222-2068.

What a mistake calling altagas morinville was for me. I called to simply switch billing companies from encor to altagas seeing as how they have a choke hold on morinville gas supply. I thought cutting the middleman would save me a few dollars. It was the beginning of a two week ordeal nearly costing me 386 dollars for 0.1 GJ usage over 2 days. I've contacted their morinville office 4 times. 1st to have only billing changed to altagas giving myself 7 days before activation in case I changed my mind. 2nd less that 24 hrs later to have that request cancelled (don't change a thing) because they need 350 deposit and a 36 dollar fee just to bill me directly instead of going through Epcor...?! I called encor to confirm that nothing had been changed. Altagas put the change through anyway. Literally did nothing to stop it despite my diligence and encor notified me about a billing change just after the week wait I had requested.. and cancelled. 3rd was to make sure altagas was not going to bill me for the deposit and fee. They had and again were confused as to why I didn't want to pay the extra costs. Because I didn't want any of this to continue past first call. Even told me that encor had dropped me as a customer on their own (encor rep said not a chance). I was told I would not be charged deposit and fee. 4th call was to dispute the deposit and fee charges on he Altagas bill I had recieved in total of 216 ( the other half of deposit not refunded and the fee) The customer rep was short with me and rude. Using terms like "whatever," and "I'm not your sweetheart" when I had calmly tried to implore her "sweetheart I am just after a fair resolution." Eventually Miss N removed the 36 dollar fee in a verbal agreement. I told the 4th rep Miss N, that I would need to speak to her manager. She said I can't, that they would have to call me. The day is over and I haven't been contacted. I am going to have to call a 5th time to try for the manager and to make sure Miss N removed the charges she agreed to. What a nightmare. Do not use altagas for anything but the monopoly supplier of your gas if you are in morinville. Use a big billing company as biller. Altagas are no cheaper and are epically unprofessional.

Sadly a new name won't save a bad reputation. You have to fix your business practices then rebrand. Not just throw money on rebranding. Be smarter with your finances Apex. Apex Utilities was called AltaGas Utilities. Do not give them your business.

Thank you for cutting off my gas for no reason, with no warning, nothing. Didnt recieve a single phone call, email or anything about a reason why it would be getting cut off. Come home from work, no gas. Call you guys, and its 5 business days before someone can come out to look at it. Grade A service guys. What a company.

Horrible is a moderate term for these crooks, but considering the public forum, horrible will have to do. Avoid at all costs! If you are with them, please report them to the energy regulator with a copy of your bill on a regular basis. Help yourself and others!

They increase my heat bill every month I am living in small condo they increase my heat bill almost 40% My heat bill come in winter Max 80$ now they send me 135$. When I talk them there claim is too cold that why they increase.

Had a great experience with customer service, Shawna walked me through every step clearly and even made it enjoyable! Never had a customer service rep who made it fun before so that was nice!

Have been with apex for 11 years. We use the budget installment plan and love that our bills are never crazy like some competitors bills. Every winter I hear all about how insane other peoples bill have gotten and I am always pleased to know that mine is the same. Thanks for providing gas at a reasonable price.

This company is a scam. Very poor customer service. Was with this company in Leduc for 2+ years before they decided to rebrand bcs of a degrading rating. On October 4th I had my services disconnected. According to their own company policy, they gave themselves 3 weeks to return my deposit. Now in December 6th more than triple that time, I still don’t have my deposit refund. The company customer service reps and supervisor Leighanne or leeann offered up apologies and placed blame on Canada post and new office software and everything in between…then admitted the check actually was never sent out and I’ve been checking the mailbox daily in vein. Then assured me the check was mailed and set up a check up phone call last Wednesday to make sure I got the check…the phone call never came…I’ve called every business day since and no one has returned my calls!! Called the utilities commission for Alberta and made a formal complaint and have an ombudsman working on it..made a file with the bbb and am writing the city of Leduc and the media. Stay away from Alta Gas…aka..apex utilities…
