About Anderson Orthopedics

Our History

In 1945 the Department of Veterans Affairs opened a prosthetic departments to assist World War II veterans.  When a civilian would attempt to make an appointment at Deer Lodge, he would be told it was for veterans only.  An employee by the name of George Anderson started to provide the service at his house.  Therefore, when a civilian was asked where he got his prosthesis from he would reply “From Anderson’s House”.  The name continues.

In 1946, George Anderson decided to quit Veterans Affairs and opened a prosthetic clinic keeping the name Anderson’s House of Orthopedics.  The business evolved and over the years orthotics was included as well.  The original house was on King Edward Street, later moving to Notre Dame near Sargent Avenue.  A fire destroyed the building in 1982.

The company moved to St.James Street in 1983.  In 1994 the company expanded to Brandon and has developed clinics in The Pas.  A year later, in 1995 Anderson’s House had the opportunity to move to Deer Lodge Centre when Veterans Affairs closed their prosthetic department.

Both my husband and myself have needed the services of these wonderful people. They are kind, efficient and utterly professional.

Holy moly, what a different experience compared to my first walking boot fitting at IMS. I was immediately greeted, and felt like a person. The quality of the boot is sooooo much better. The man who fitted me was polite, listened to me, and again, made me feel like a person. Let my experience save you a bad one, and just go here first.

Customer service is not good. My mother was fitted for a brace for her knee . The associate said it would take 2-3 weeks to come in. It came in 5 weeks to the day, certainly not 2-3 weeks. Now we find out that she can't have the brace fitted for another 2 weeks. That would be 7 weeks total. Just another example of poor customer service!!

I just had double knee surgery yesterday and needed a double set of cool cuffs. Came to Brandon to pick them up couple days before surgery was given the machine and two sets of cool cuffs. At the hospital they said it needs a Y to join the 2 cuffs. Wife had to run back to u people and find out that u had no clue what she needed so she had to run to another agency to get one while I was out of surgery and waiting for the piece! My thoughts if u sell and rent this equipment u should have staff that are knowledgeable.. very stressful for us
