★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I could not recommend this company. Our first 50% deposit was paid on October 2, 2019 and the last part of the awning was installed today, on August 17, 2020. In those 10 1/2 months they:
Nov 12 - lost our artwork
Nov 25 - decided we needed a new soffit, not included in the original quote
Feb 21 - the weather is too cold, they need to stop production
March 11 - Ken has been out of town
March - July - Covid 19 has shut down their production - Why? Unclear, as construction is an essential service
Aug 4 - old awning is removed, but they have lost our artwork and don't have a record of any of our design selections, so we have no awning and the new one obviously hasn't even been started
Aug 4-14 - calls from the public and our own members concerned that our company has shut down because we haven't had a sign in weeks.
Aug 17 - awning is installed, but no soffit because they want to fix our lights, but would need to do another quote on that. Our answer on that was no, just finish. As you can imagine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was working under tight timelines and budget constraints, moving my business from Granville Island to Edgemont Village in North Van. There was a name sticker on the awning for the previous business, and I called it but they didn't pick up or return calls, for weeks. I was overwhelmed with packing and staffing, sales and planning and forgot to get on the task...and when I remembered a few weeks before opening, I panicked! Other quotes were coming in that were hundreds of dollars higher, and with two months lead time. When I finally connected with Ancient Mariner, I was relieved to get a decent quote and a turn-around time that had the awning up before I opened. A wonderful experience! Highly recommend this company.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We needed the fabric of our awning replaced, and had a great experience. The owner, Ken, is very pleasant, and the service was fabulous: he came the same day we called to take some measurements and to show us a book of fabric samples; he gave us a quote the next day, and replaced the fabric a week later. The result looks great. I would definitely take them again.

1. After my "change of order" that being 1 awning, you informed me the awnings would be installed 3rd week of Oct.
2. Oct 14 - I contacted you to see if we were still on track for Oct. 21st. Your reply "I assume so". That left me with plenty of confidence.
3. Nov. 10 - I contact you again to see what is happening. I would like an install date.
4. Nov. 12 - Your reply - Depends on the weather" "I will talk to the installation team"
No mention of "mix up on the order"
5. Dec. 5th - I write that I need a real answer on the install date or refund my money.
6. Dec. 24th - Your reply - "Understand the awnings have not been installed yet. I instructed the team to do it weeks ago."
Still no mention of a mix up on the order
5. Dec 30 - You write to say the awnings "should have come in on about Nov. 15th...."
Still no mention of a mix up on the order
6. January 4, 2022 - You write "there was a mixup in the order...that they (the awnings) will not be here for about 60 days"
The facts speak for themselves Ken.
