Definitely the most beautiful dojo I've been to in Vancouver, with the friendliest, most approachable and knowledgeable teachers around. And the first class is free so what are you waiting?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Top notch instructors who are not just experts in their arts but also can teach well. I've studied martial arts for 20 years and there aren't very many clubs that I can recommend. This club is by far the best. The owner, Jesse is extremely knowledgeable but very nice and humble.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Two months ago I paid for a Tai Chi class advertise on their website. On the day, Jesse told me they didn't have that class for awhile now. Then he told me I was going to get a refund since I payed through their website in advance. He also offered me two free classes on top of the refund. Unfortunately, because I adopted a dog that week, I wasn't able to attend the classes but I trusted him about my refund. Two months later and I still haven't got my refund. I was so excited to finally find a dojo near me but now I'm really sad to find out I couldn't trust this dojo :'( I understand the covid situation. But not being true to their words and the false advertise on their website is still discouraging.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ancient Fire martial arts was started by my good friend Jesse whom I have known for close to twenty years now. Jesse and I have trained together on numerous occasions and I was also taught by him. There are few people out there as dedicated and fanatical about training and bettering themselves than Jesse. He is truly passionate about what he does and is extremely personable and caring. If you are thinking about trying some martial arts or are experienced, I would highly recommend you come down to Ancient Fire and meet Jesse, you won't be disappointed! If I was still living in BC I would definitely be down there!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the extraordinary pleasure of attending an introductory Film Stunts course at Ancient Fire as part of the Indigenous Action Artists Mentorship Programme (IAAMP). The owner, Jesse, and a myriad of other exceptional stunt performers/coordinators/professionals facilitated this course. I'm not sure a better environment for education, and safety could have been created anywhere else, particularly with their phenomenal dedication to adhering to their Covid Safety Plan and respect for the wide ranging cultures that attended the course. This is a true hidden gem of Vancouver and has just as much value for someone seeking pursuits of excellence as it does for someone seeking self-enlightenment. I left my course at Ancient Fire with new passions and will definitely be back for martial arts, breathwork and gymnastics sessions on a recurring basis.
