★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A toxic, unregulated site, which causes cancer in so many beloved people both in ON and also in Sault Ste Marie, MI. I wish this place was actually regulated by the US's EPA standards - unfortunately it is not and pollutes the entire area, causing so many unnecessary deaths.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the largest and most important steel producers in Canada. People are understandably concerned about emissions, but need to remember that all renewable energy technologies, especially windmills, contain metric tons of steel. Steel is critical to the future as it was to the past. Algoma is currently in the process of converting from coal coke blast furnaces to electric arc furnaces, a transformation that will see significant reductions in harmful emissions.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our Direct Strip Production Complex is the newest facility of its kind on the continent. The mill produces quality hot and cold rolled steel products including sheet and plate and is a leader in military grade steel. The steel mills only downfall is it's pullution which they are improving with the new electric arc furnaces.
