★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Called for a delivery today! Service was fast and perfect. They even had to make a judgement call as to where to leave my delivery as no one was there and they made the perfect call. Great service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ always have what we need for wood and supplies, and their local (bonus!), the employees (mostly the one older gentleman who works there) are super helpful. the wood prices were always a bit more than elsewhere but there so close for us its just convenient.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perhaps the least helpful hardware store in eastern Ontario, which puts it in the running for least helpful province-wide. The cashiers are friendly enough. But the guys at the contractor desk couldn't be more hostile, condescending, or unwilling to answer questions. And this isn't based on a single visit. I shopped there at least a dozen times while renovating my house this summer.
My last experience: I needed more of an Alexandria Moulding wall panel, which I had bought from this Home Hardware earlier in the season and which they no longer had in stock. The website specifically says the item could be reordered. But according to our friendly neighbourhood contractor desk, that would require sending somebody to pick up my order from the manufacturer, which is literally down the street, and there was no way they'd expend the effort. That was after they passed me through four other people to answer my question, some of whom refused to speak English to me. I expect this kind of service in rural Quebec, where I grew up. I thought I'd escaped it when I moved to Ontario.
Such is the advantage of being the only game in town: You don't have to try very hard. Trust me when I say, these guys don't try at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They always have a large variety of items in stock. When they ran out they ordered it for me and called me when it arrived and I did not have to pay up front You! There is always someone there to answer my questions and help me find the right product for the job. They never make me feel rushed. If you call asking a question you aren't left on hold like other stores for a half hour waiting to speak to a person. You can't beat the customer service from Home Hardware in Alexandria!
