R	Ryan Smith on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm sorry Alex - but your negligence quite literally nearly cost me my house and livelihood. At NO POINT during our communications (and I've gone through them several times with other lawyers) did you make me aware that the amount of the HST figure would be so excessive. You didn't mention figures, percentages, ranges... you didn't even mention setting aside money to accommodate the expense. So, when on closing I was hit with a "surprise-that-shouldn't-have-been-a-surprise" HST bill, I had to frantically source more than $60k in financing in less than 24 hours OR I'd risk losing everything I had put in to that point... which was everything I owned. I wracked my brain for months about whether to report you to the Law Society, even getting another lawyer's opinion, and still decided against it. I don't want to cost someone their livelihood, having nearly lost my own. I'm not above honest Google Reviews though. Anyone considering Alex Hu as their real estate lawyer should think twice.
