A competition using Alberta open data, is launched. The Government of Alberta, in partnership with Alberta Innovates Technology Futures, hosted this innovation competition from February – August 2015. Apps for Alberta offered $70,000 in cash prizes to encourage the brightest and most creative minds in Canada and the United States to develop apps that use open data from the Alberta open government portal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I said I am willing to work, I have been to the places they suggest but after lack of follow up, hard to get in contact with a worker for several months and barely any support. They are slowly reducing the amount I get paid to the point where I am barely able to survive. They say the money is for clothing, food and clothes. Yet I can BARELY have enough food for the month let alone clothes. I am unable to afford the things I need in order to get employment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My benefits got put on hold over 40 dollars that I claimed as a Christmas gift for my kids. I cant fox it until I speak to someone but the lines are busy. I cannot pay my rent, my kids are hungry. Nobody is helping me!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Called for a food voucher, asked why I need it.. clearly to eat.. made me feel embarrassed for even asking. Was extremely rude, pointing out I’m living in a place I can’t afford. Yup, very well aware I don’t have another option. Extremely horrible and upsetting experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was on hold for a total of nearly 2 hours, hearing the same messages over and over again!! I get that they are busy but holy **** this is unacceptable!! At least when I was in BC they'd say how long you'd be on hold then ask if you'd like to leave a call back number. Then they'd call back at the time they said.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrible phone system. Queue might as well not exist. You can be in it for over an hour and it'll suddenly say it's too busy and you should call back later. Or it'll just drop you without warning. Or the audio will cut out so you're unsure if the call is still active. Plus if you do call back later, it'll often say it's too busy and deny you from even getting in queue. I don't mind being in queue for four hours so long as I actually get to talk to someone!
I've been attempting to get a hold of someone for four days under these conditions. I'm beyond livid.
The only reason this isn't a 1-star review is because the staff are good when you can actually get a hold of them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It seems like they put the phones on "DO NOT DISTURB" I have been on hold for almost 5 hours and they don't seem to have a queue or anyone managing said phones. And this is calling the number to amend my file not the regular provincial Alberta works number. I am sorry to leave a poor review but this is ridiculous. I called in 20 minutes after you opened today. Write my entire day off waiting to speak to someone about my file.
