The Alberta Labour Relations Board (ALRB) is an independent and impartial tribunal responsible for the day-to-day application and interpretation of Alberta's labour laws. The role of the ALRB is to interpret and apply the legislation governing collective bargaining including:
- how and under what conditions a trade union may claim the status of exclusive bargaining agent for a group of employees;
- how the employer and union must bargain to reach or renew a collective agreement;
- what kinds of union and employer conduct is prohibited; and
- when the parties may have recourse to a strike or lockout.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I emailed them to ask about my rights pertaining to medical cannabis when its prescribed, and using CBD Oil, and they told me it's not their jurisdiction, and I have to go to the Human Rights Commission. This issue directly pertains to employee/employer relations, how is it not their jurisdiction?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Useless. Been months. All they say is 'you might need a lawyer', which is what I was trying to avoid because I cannot afford as my company didn't pay me? This is a gov't arm which takes our tax dollars, for what? Really. What do they do. My ex company 'illegally' withheld $, and the Alberta Whatever The Hell They Do has done nothing. No reply. Nothing.

They won't even talk or direct me to a person to talk with to see if I even have a leg to stand on & see if it's worth all the effort to fight against the slimy oilfield Frac company.
My old HR lady who also quit there and moved on to Calfrac , recommended my getting a lawyer ...so to me and everyone I've talked to figures they will owe me .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not a long wait time to get ahold of a person, but maybe instead of telling ppl where to find changes to the laws in their automated voice system, maybe they should say that for all complaints you need to submit them online!! Nice enough lady to deal with, but why couldn't she just take the few mins to fill out a report against an employer who's breaking several different laws. :/

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As soon as you call them you get put on hold, Music plays for about 5 seconds before getting interrupted by the automated robot constantly telling you things like.. "thanks for your patience" and "please stay on the line" in a constant loop over and over... Then the automated robot starts to say "we are experiencing high call volumes" I continue holding... Then 5 seconds later "thanks for your patience please call back later we are busy" Every time I call back i eventually get hung up on by the automated system.
Worst experience i have ever had on a single phone call in my entire life, Thanks!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I contacted them regarding to my gf's wrongful dismission, the lady is very patient to hear me out, and she points out that we should be going to OHS and Human right commission as they only dealt with union based company. Even if they can't help, but we highly appreciate the information she has provided us with. Thank you very much.
