★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An underground storage tank had to be removed as part of a real estate transaction. Sadly, contaminated soil was discovered after the tank was removed. More than 110 tonnes of soil was removed over a 1 month span of time and several excavations. Each excavation was followed promptly by soil sampling. Dennis B expertly coordinated the sampling and testing of the soil samples. Dennis made sure to ask each time whether a 24-hour turnaround was desired as there was added costs and then he communicated the results. All communication was prompt and professional. Towards the end of the project, the contaminated soil vein encroached upon the root plate of a 50-foot Western Red Cedar. Cutting the tree down would’ve added weeks to an ever-tightening timeline so Dennis and Steven identified a process to have the remaining contaminated soil surgically removed without resorting to cutting down the tree. A slight glitch with the final invoice by a new office staffer was quickly resolved with a phone call and a nearly 60-page detailed report was gladly received.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Steven and his team at ALARA Environmental are a definite must for anyone looking to purchase a warehouse or development property and are concerned with possible contamination or health & safety. My client was looking to purchase a warehouse in BBY and despite the listing agents claiming the entire area was issue free, we brought in ALARA to double-check by doing some research and a Stage 1. Steven found that there was in fact some history of contamination nearby from a dry cleaning company; and found minute traces of contamination in the surrounding area- and looked into matters further. Since my client was purchasing the warehouse for food manufacturing, she wanted to be absolutely certain that there wouldn't be any issues whatsoever and thanks to ALARA and their professionalism and experience- by handling things every step of the way- my client was able to purchase the property knowing her property was given the all clear by a company that knows about environmental health and safety.
