Unfortunately however, the company seems to lack knowledge, experience and most importantly, project management. When initially hired to build my home, the process started smoothly. That quickly turned when some basic items on the checklist were missed. Not knowing to go to the NVCA for permits before the town set us back dramatically. Too many items to list here that snowballed. During the construction process, their project managers missed timelines, but time. Wrong materials, colours, etc. Ended up having to bring in several of my own trades to catch up and correct.

More importantly, their whole pricing and process is transparent, so that you know how much everything will cost up front with no hidden fees. A totally different experience than with other builders who start with a lower estimate and end up adding on "extras" which break the bank.

They were easy to work with, knowledgeable and always professional. They handled everything including exterior painting, all demo and clean up, new doors and hardware, HVAC, drywall and carpentry, electrical and lighting installation, all flooring (hardwood, slate, tile and vinyl), plumbing, 3 bathrooms and kitchen installation and specialty finishes i.e. barn wood doors, wood feature walls, barn beams in the kitchen + 2 draft beer taps and custom clothes closet. They were very good at creative problem solving and worked well with our designer. They were able to bring excellent local tradespeople across the board to the table who all delivered high quality work. Kevin was great at negotiating very good pricing with suppliers. He was highly communicative, responsive, professional, timely, knowledgeable and most appreciated, calm and friendly. He pretty much mastered it on everything. As is expected with a reno, there can be some tense periods. Navigating our reno in the middle of a pandemic and over Christmas was no easy task. But Alex kept his cool and friendly manner resulting in much needed comfort and confidence during a very disruptive time. He maintained excellent customer attentiveness despite the pandemic and the twists and turns that our reno took. Many times, after endless reno discussions and updates, we would always land on, "Alex is a great guy, such a pleasure to deal with."

D	Dimi Tuovi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We engaged Alair Homes in Collingwood (Kevin and Laurie Blair) for a full renovation of our home during Covid, and very much enjoyed working with the Alair team through the entire 15month process. From the start, we felt like this was a true partnership. We loved the transparency of the Alair process, as well as the online client portal that Alair offers - easy to look at estimates, approve quotes and follow progress. The entire Alair team was a pleasure to work with - we worked closest with Alex (project manager) and Scott (carpenter). We had complete, open lines of communication with Alex and Alair. Alex had his pulse on the project the whole time. We always felt the team was on top of things, we could always ask any questions/satisfied with answers and always felt apprised of goings on. The entire team was responsive, professional and took complete pride in their jobs. Any issues that came up (few/minor) were addressed quickly and to our satisfaction. Our renovation was during the height of the pandemic, and yet Alair was still able to get good trades (electrical, drywall, plumbing, etc) and materials with little to no issue to our job. All the trades we interacted with also demonstrated openess, professionalism and a good working relationship. We would not hesitate to recommend Alair Homes in Collingwood to anyone.
