About Aktiv Physio
My passion for physical activity, movement and healthy living is what led me to pursue a career as a physiotherapist. But my love of living on the farm and being close to family is what led me to start Aktiv Physio in my community.
I grew up on a family farm near Waseca where I worked with cattle, along with helping with seeding and harvest: everything from running a combine to picking rocks to branding cattle. I left the farm to pursue my education starting with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Regina and then on to my Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Saskatchewan. Since then I have continued to pursue education in hands on therapy, dry needling/IMS, running mechanics and conditioning. I have recently completed my Connect Therapy Series™ and will be continuing with Part 4 of this series in 2022 from Dr. LJ Lee International in North Vancouver.
Outside of work, I developed a love for endurance running, personally completing a marathon and several half marathons. Through my personal experiences and educational background, I understand the mechanics and the demands that sport can have and how it can lead to injury. I have been involved with track and field for nearly two decades as an athlete and a coach and I now help athletes improve performance and prevent injury. I enjoy working with people at all levels of activity, movement and sport to improve their health and meet their goals.
