OUR STORY
It all started in 1995, with a crazy idea. Dave Cook and Don Thorson owned Farm World, a successful ag dealership in Kinistino that sold Ford New Holland and AGCO equipment. Well, in 1995 Ford gave Farm World an ultimatum. No more selling AGCO… or else.

So Dave and Don came up with the wild idea. They asked their sons if they’d like to start their own business; a business that would take over the AGCO line. This AGCO dealer would compete against the Ford dealer.
David Cook, Jr. and Ian Thorson were young, and just crazy enough to say yes.

Thus, Ag World Equipment was born. It was Dads vs. Sons in (mostly) friendly competition. David and Ian soon realized that to succeed they’d have to work hard, even harder than their Dads.

David and Ian also tried to stick to basic business ideals. Simply, be friendly and courteous. Give the kind of service farmers really want… and need. And above all, be honest in every single thing that’s said and done.
In other words, do everything possible to exceed farmers’ expectations.

In February 2020 Ian and Joanne Thorson purchased all the shares of Ag World Equipment. Ian and Joanne now own 100% of Ag World Equipment.
Quite a few harvests have passed since those early years, but the business ideals remain the same. In fact, the commitment is to constantly push to do better.
