Liz was phenomenal 14 years ago when we began the journey to bring our son home from Haiti and over the years she has come to take a very special place in our family. . He arrived in July 2004 and Adoption Options has been there since day 1, and equally as important is that they are still here today to discuss the challenges of parenting and adoptions at all ages.

A wonderful organization that educates teens and adults about the options available to them in a pregnancy. They bring together people on both sides in a emotional time and help to connect in a caring way a beneficial outcome for all in the long-run.

Adoption Options is full of adoption angels who care for the hearts of all involved in the adoption process. The social workers provide unending support and create community for birth families, waiting couples and adoptive parents. Having waited 4 years to be finally placed in 2011 with our beautiful boy, they held our hope, bolstered our spirits during a crazy placement, supported our son's birthmom post-placement and continue to be a part of our social community. Love you AO!

I have been employed as a social worker with Adoption Options Alberta for over ten years. Everyday I am grateful to work with a team of women who are so compassionate, dedicated, non judgemental and supportive. Providing options counselling and helping women decide what is best for THEM is very rewarding. No one should ever have to be alone or unsupported when facing an unplanned pregnancy.

I placed a child with this agency back in the 80s. It was NOT a good experience. At that time parents who were looking to adopt were NOT screened or given background checks. The agency was not legally run. They gave out my personal information to a family member who orchestrated a reunion without my knowledge years later. One of my minor children where at this reunion (without my consent) and it ended in disaster (with drugs and alcohol). When I went looking for answers I was given the run around and a phone number to get counselling. I am outraged that this agency refuses to acknowledge what they did. They also fired the social worker who was trying to help me find out who gave out my personal info. I am certain it was the founder Marylin but she and the others are now avoiding me. ADOPTION OPTIONS does not care about protecting women who make this very painful choice and I will continue to speak out about this as I know there are others who have been treated this way. I regret ever trusting these people and am no longer supportive of adoptions.

Very happy with the professionalism and commitment of the social workers and staff. Their efforts extend beyond the normal working day into hosting community groups and educational seminars and videos. If you're in contact with this organization, you are likely going through a difficult and confusing time, but the people here have your back.

If we could give a zero star rating we would. As a birth parent looking to place, or a couple looking to adopt, please, please, do your research. Unfortunately, after a 8-year journey with this agency, with no success in having a placement, we made the decision to close our file this year. Although we feel the agency was perhaps ran with true intentions at one time, it very much became to feel like no more than a money grab over the last couple of years. The process became cold, and this was re-affirmed to us after we made communication with our Social Worker this spring that we no longer felt the agency was best representing our interests as a couple, and that we wanted to close our file with them. We were ghosted....not even so much as an email back from her, but only a package several weeks later in the mail from the Executive Director, with a letter stating where we were on the list, and confirmation that they had closed our file and were returning our documents to us as per PIPA. This doesn't speak to me as an agency that truly cares about the adoptive families waiting for a placement with their agency. All they will tell you through your journey is that they know how hard and stressful the adoptive process is, and yet, when a couple comes to you with literally the hardest decision of their lives, realizing that their dreams to have a family of their own are not going to come to fruition, you don't have the audacity to show even a fraction of empathy or care????? I'm blown away. When we started this process we always knew there was a possibility that we would never receive a placement. However, after 8 years only to have had our file shown 23 times, and then to have at the end not even a morsal of care or compassion shown to us, just reaffirms what this agency has come to be.
