M	Maria G on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awful service! All the staff are extremely rude. They treat you like s*** as a customer as if they are doing customers a favor by serving us. Can't ask any questions otherwise they get upset. Their food is not that great either. Very oily doubles and small for that price. Their meat curries are mostly potatoes and has a bitter after taste. Their saheenas are dripping oil....gross. Can't emphasize enough what awful service they have. Very very slow serving customers. Sometimes I end up waiting for 25 mins for just doubles and saheenas. Many times they have closed their store before closing hours and doesn't update it on Google. Several times, I looked up their opening hrs on Google and drive through traffic to get to them only to find out they're closed. Last time supporting this business! Not worth my time or money! Better options elsewhere customers!

I confronted them on the phone to which they replied they close earlier (every single tone was rude that they spoke to us in). They called us at 3:58 we were 4 min away asking us if we were coming. I got on the phone AGAIN and met him with the same tone. Super rude we will NEVER order from here again. Change your attitude when you work in customer service regardless if you’re the owner or not. I normally don’t make reviews but this had my blood boiling.

N	Naval Shah on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious doubles and saheena. Don't be thrown off by the low-key hole-in-the-wall decor and vibe. If you can handle a bit of spice, make sure to tell them spicy with the pepper sauce for extra kick. Highly highly recommend.

As stated in other google reviews, their food is delicious, and well prepared. I asked for xtra spicy in all ordered items. Now that is where i find their pepper sauce is quite good. It was just enough heat but it did not overcome the taste of the spices and ingredients. They are open on the weekend. I plan to add this restaurant to my goto list.

Nestled in Scarborough area (Lawrence & Midland) it has an outdated and average interior but makes incredibly tasty Trinidad’s signature dishes. The downside - you will meet unfriendly, stone faced and indifferent store staff. This has been prevalent ever since I’ve been coming to this place but doesn’t really bother me coz I just come here for the food. The Doubles you buy here is perfectly made - spiced chickpea (channa) filling is sandwiched between two pieces of fried dough (bara). Of all the doubles I’ve tried, ACR Doubles has the right amount of channa sauciness and a good mix of whole chickpeas and gravy. The combination of soft, strechy Baras and tender, spiced Channa makes this one delicious tasting Doubles. You also have the option to add hot peppers to your Doubles and if you have spicy food tolerance I strongly suggest to do so. The added hot peppers elevate the flavour and add texture to the otherwise basic fried snack. Saheena/Saheena Roll on the other hand is essentially a fried spinach/dasheen/callaloo fritter. It has a savory and earthy flavour and is fried to crispy perfection. Very filling and a good vegetarian snack. If you’re craving for a taste of Trinidad food in Toronto, there’s really no better place to go than ACR Hot Roti and Doubles.
