★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Royal Québec Golf Club, which originally dates from 1874, is home to two 18-hole championship golf courses. Willie Park Jr designed the Royal course in 1925, while the Québec course, a Howard Watson design, followed in 1959. Royal Québec's tree-lined parkland layouts should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. Worth including on your play list if you are in the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My father-in-law contacted the golf course this week to book a tee time while he travels to Quebec City for a short vacation. He does not speak French, but took the time to look up and learn how to properly apologize and say "Je suis désolé, je ne parle pas français " (I'm sorry I dont speak French). The man at the reception answered "Well I dont speak English, and hung up on him.
Now, I'm French-Canadian and called the golf course back the next day asking to speak to a manager or supervisor, I was denied saying none worked on weekends and that there was nothing they could do about the bad service my father-in-law got.
For a golf course that comes highly recommended, and for a tourist city, I find the rudeness misplaced and unhelpful. Hanging up on a potential customer who has actually taken the time to learn a couple of phrases is better than someone not trying at all.
He will be golfing somewhere else this week.
Comme Québécoise, je trouve ça vraiment plate comme traitement. Le manque flagrant de respect et de vouloir au moin d'aider, surtout d'un étlablissement comme celui-ci est vraiment surprenant. Je veux bien comprendre que des séparatistes qui aimes pas les anglais y'en a partout, mais quand ta job est de servir le monde... tu fais au moin un effort, surtout quand eux en font un. Se faire raccrocher la ligne au nez était vraiment pas nécessaire. Et pour le service que moi j'ai eue en téléphonant pour lui la lendemain, c'était pas mieux. Le monsieur au bout de l'autre ligne était sec et impoli. Il se foutait vraiment de ce que j'avais à dire.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This course is beautiful and extremely well maintained. It plays long but the fairways are wide so you can really rip it and not get punished too bad if you’re a bit off line. Makes for a really fun time.
