Absolute Event Planning & Decor

An absolute terrible experience with Absolute Decor. There was zero interest shown in any preliminary planning or meetings. Owner stated to send him photos and videos of the venue as opposed to meeting at the venue. After agreeing to finally meet, upon arrival he was late and did not participate in any discussion or show interest in the plan. Our contract included under padding which the owner tried to back out of on several occasions. He kept making excuses and stated we could just use plain white sheets for people to sit on. We explained we have elderly people who would require a comfortable area to sit on. In addition, a week before the wedding ceremony he did not have the materials for house decor and stated he didn’t know we still wanted it and would have to see if he could arrange it. Our original contract included reception but due to COVID was cancelled, as a result our prices were inflated and increased with no breakdown or justification after we took reception decor out. Anytime we asked for a breakdown, the owner was unable to provide exactly what we were paying for. The final numbers did not correlate with the original contract even with our guest count significantly reduced resulting in less under padding required. The night before the ceremony at 11pm was a nightmare, the groom and his family had to fix critical errors in the decor setup. A Sikh ceremony requires four lavaans in circular rounds, the decor was setup in a way that it was blocked and impossible to walk around. This was immediately brought to the owner’s attention and we were told to walk on stage around the priest, this is literally impossible and forbidden within the religion. In addition, it was made clear several times that this was a Sikh ceremony and that we do not go up on stage at the same level as the religious scripture and priest. Sikhs do not go on stage and do rounds around the priest. Also, grass was left around the gazebo which we had to rearrange and fix hours before the ceremony. The entire area should have been covered with white sheets and under padding but instead the owner stated that was only agreed for the guests. We had to drag the under padding and sheets up to the gazebo area ourselves. Instead of trying to fix the problems and provide customer service, the owner argued with us and said he is not an event planner and done his job. This is appalling after spending thousands of dollars for a service. Additionally, we were promised cushions for the bride and groom and they were not provided on the day of the ceremony making it uncomfortable for both bride and groom. Most critically, the entire gazebo fell and came apart during the sagan ceremony! The structure fell on both the bride and groom which could have injured us severely. Luckily, there were no injuries. The owner is blaming the priest and taking no responsibility, however, the structure should not come part regardless of any sort of pressure which goes back to a hypocritical statement where he wanted us to walk on the stage.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception decorated through Absolute about a year ago! Kunal was wonderful to work with. He listened to what we wanted and delivered so well! This company was also the most competitive in regards to their pricing in comparison to other decor companies and Kunal was as invested as we were in ensuring we got what we wanted within our budget. Thanks, Kunal!

Kunal and his team were nothing short of amazing! We had our decor, photography and videography done through them and it was the most seamless part of our wedding planning process. Kunal and Raj were always very easy to reach and even easier to work with. They were not only highly knowledgeable, but also flexible with working around our budget. We absolutely loved how everything turned out and wouldn’t change a thing about the end product.

We worked with Absolute for our Wedding Ceremony and Reception decor. They did an incredible job and we received countless compliments on their work. Kunal is amazing, he is easy to talk to, genuinely cares about the customer, and works hard to take into account individual tastes and preferences. He combined both our individual styles flawlessly and went the extra mile to make sure that our decor looked immaculate. He went as far as painting a decoration piece the night before because we requested a specific colour. He worked with our busy schedules and took the time to answer our texts late in the evening. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. He provided a variety of packages that fit our needs and price point. Their all-in pricing structure was presented clearly versus the competition who charged for individual pieces. After visiting 7-8 different decor companies there is no doubt in my mind that we made the best decision by going with Kunal and Absolute Decor! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a decor vendor.

Kunal and his team made our wedding reception breath taking! Not only did they do an amazing job with the decorations but they are all very nice and awesome people. Their customer service is unmatched with other wedding decorators that my husband and I met. Kunal/Absolute Decor is simply the best and you can't go wrong with them.

For my wedding I reached out to Kunal for wedding decor quotes, and out of all the decor vendors I went to and spoke to, he was honestly the one that showed the most interest & I can still say that I am so glad that I went with AE to do my decor. During covid he was so understanding and accommodating with date changes, but also did an absolutely fabulous job with home decor, my cake table and backdrop, as well as the backdrop for my Gurdwara anand karaj. Thank you so so so much for making my day so absolutely beautiful!

Kunal and the team at Absolute did an AMAZING job with our wedding decor, and made the whole process so easy and seamless and were one of our favourite wedding vendors. I can't stress enough how wonderful they were to work with! When it came time to help plan a family wedding, we knew we had to come back and hire them in a different capacity to help us with planning a destination wedding! We can't wait to keep working with them!

Despite the ups and downs COVID-19 brought for our wedding, the whole experience with Kunal and Absolute Decor in the last year has been smooth and amazing! Kunal was professional, honest, kept us laughing and overall, made our wedding unforgettable! Thank you for everything :)
