About Aaron's on the Lake Bed & Breakfast
Aaron’s on the Lake Bed & Breakfast is a dream come true for your hosts Eleanore and Randy McMahon.
It all started when they were backpacking as a young couple through Europe in 1989. Each time they’d stay at a new bed and breakfast, they’d imagine what it would be like to be the owners. They dreamed of buying property in Gimmelwald, Switzerland, but at the ages of 27 and 29 ultimately decided they would have a more secure life in Canada.
Twenty-eight years and three kids later, Eleanore and Randy’s dream of owning a bed and breakfast has come true!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Being at Aaron's on the lake B&B was a step back to my childhood days living at the cabin. Despite the warm temperatures, the Lakeview room remained cool and comfortable with the windows open and the lake breezes flowing through. The room was spacious, clean, and had all necessary amenities. The breakfasts were amazing, presented beautifully and Eleanore makes sure you are completely satisfied. Randy & Eleanore have hosting down to an art form and are there 1000% for their guests.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I spent an anniversary retreat at Aaron's and it was fabulous. On arrival a quick walk along the lake and then a nice charcuterie board. Later, a hot tub soak under the stars. We stayed in the Lakeside cabin and were welcomed with a fantasticly colourful sunrise over the lake. Delightful breakfast and then a one hour walk on a nearby walking trail.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a truly memorable experience for our first B&B at Aaron's on the Lake. We stayed in the Pierview room during a pretty good weekend in November where there was snow but not too chilly. Took a wonderful walk along the beach and had a great view of the full moon. Sat under the moon and stars while making great use of the hot tub. Ate a nice charcuterie board which was prepared by the hosts. And it was definitely worth waking up early in the morning to see the beautiful sunrise by the lake. Great hosts, delicious breakfasts, and nice accommodations make for a wonderful stay by the lake. We highly recommend this B&B for anyone looking for a quiet getaway/staycation. We look forward to coming back!

This was our first getaway as a married couple and we loved it so much we immediately booked another weekend. Everything about this experience was amazing ! Thank you Randy and Eleanore

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a great winter getaway! A very convenient drive from Winnipeg. We stayed in the Garden Room for two nights. The decor was elegant, the room was clean. Great shower and bathroom. The breakfast every morning was amazing. We enjoyed the hot tub a few different times throughout the day. I can't wait to return!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited the place in 2020 summer which was an amazing experience. Hosts are the best people I’ve ever met. Randy and his wife were very welcoming. I stayed in the pier view room but doesn’t matter what room you close to stay, you get to enjoy the whole surroundings. Best part was drinking tea in the gazebo. Loved and enjoyed the BnB to the fullest.
If you are looking for a stay away in summer and looking to enjoy a romantic time with your loved one, I can assure you this is the place for it! ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at AOTL and highly recommend! Each cabin has been lovingly restored and updated by the excellent hosts. Attention to detail is evident everywhere. We enjoyed a snowshoe trek on the frozen lake followed by a relaxing hot tub which allowed us to watch the changing colours of sunset on the opposite shoreline. Each season has it's beauty and we look forward to visiting in warmer weather. Thank you Eleanore and Randy for providing such a lovely place so close to Winnipeg.
