They take very good care of your loved ones. I really appreciate how they look after all the important details and communication for what is going on so the whole family can stay in the loop.

Our family has been so thankful for the "A Friend Indeed" agency's interactions with our sister, who due to dementia and other health issues, is a resident in an assisted living facility. The companions (we call them friends) are exceptional, so attentive, patient, tolerant, respectful, compassionate with our sister's visits. They do crafts, puzzles, walks, exercise, taking her to in-facility activities, and on country drives (weather- permitting). The friends use the information our family shared regarding our sister's profession, family, and travel history to make her visits more personal and meaningful. She really benefits and enjoys the stimulation and variety of these visits. And because of the positive engagement and involvement, she now engages in more activities on her own, at the facility. Frequently the facility care staff comment that our sister has the best companions and we couldn't agree more. A bonus is that after each visit, the 'friend' keeps the family in the loop: with a summary of the visit, our sister's response to the visit, intuitive observations and raises any concerns regarding her complex health issues. When the family can't be there, they are an extra set of eyes. Truly our sister's sense of independence has been respected and her quality of life has been enhanced by her interactions with her "Friend Indeed" companions. We are all grateful and blessed by their love and support.

This extra support definitely adds to the quality of my Dad's life. While my Dad is well cared for in a great dementia facility, I see the difference that some extra one-on-one and TLC makes in his day. It also takes pressure off of me knowing that he has another regular visitor, a "friend" that gives her full undivided attention while visiting. Whether they look at photos, read cards and letters, play with his car collection or take some fresh air in the courtyard, the visit is catered to his mood and benefits him greatly. The smiles, laughs, and hand-holding shared with his "friend" reminds him how much he is loved and what a special man he is. Thank you Robyn and staff for your care.

We've used A Friend Indeed since 2013 for mom. We started using it shortly after my step-dad passed away. We quickly realized we needed some help getting mum around (she'd given up driving years before.) We reached out to Robyn and she explained how they work. She was very helpful in explaining how it would help mum, the costs, and how dedicated her team is. Mum was assigned a companion (Jill), who has been with mum all this time. Seeing or talking to her weekly. As things have changed in mums life - going from living alone to living in supportive living Jill (and Robyn) have been there every step. Offering support and advice on dealing with mum as her dementia has progressed. During the pandemic A Friend Indeed became critical to provide an another voice for mum to here when restrictions had her isolated. Mum has always said Jill is like a daughter, and for me the level of support, compassion, and care for mum has brought me great comfort. Thank you A Friend Indeed for years of being part of the family.

My younger sister and I are incredibly grateful for the support, and often great kindness, "A Friend Indeed" is providing my mother. My mom is a widow living on her own. This service has allowed her to remain self-sufficient while at the same time ensuring that she gets the help and companionship necessary to maintaining her independence. This has been especially important during the pandemic, as my mother doesn't drive and has mobility issues. She's also receiving medical treatments each month in Calgary, and there is no way she could make those appointments without Robyn's commitment to driving her from Airdrie, waiting during the treatments, and taking her home again. And while my mom has missed going shopping with a companion, I know that the fact that she can rely on Robyn and her team (with special thanks to Natalie and Bev!) alleviates any extra anxiety this current crisis might produce. I appreciate the written reports we receive after each visit. This makes us feel included in her care, even from another province. The consistency between these reports and my mother's account of the service itself is reassuring, as it confirms the quality of care and respect she's getting. Thanks to you all!

I am incredibly grateful for the service Robyn and her team provided for my dad and myself. They were there for me at a time when I really needed help with my dads visits. He looked forward and enjoyed the time together and gave me peace of mind that my dad was in good hands and enjoying his visits and/or outings. I highly recommend Robyn and her team. She is very professional, helpful and understanding.

I've been volunteering with a senior for several years because he has no family and found it increasingly hard to be there as I got busier with work. I hired A Friend Indeed to help bridge the gap in my visits and immediately it gave me a sense of relief. It also immediately changed the overall mood, as he wasn't feeling loneliness so often anymore. He really enjoyed visits with Jennifer - she would bring in books about dogs or fighter planes, things that were part of his interests and history. She genuinely took interest in him and I could tell because he was more positive and wanted to do more than just sit in his room alone. After each visit, you receive a summary of what they did and things they talked about. I was always so amazed Jennifer could get him outside or to one of the recreation activities. After her visits, it was easier for me to get him outside, as he wanted to go! A few weeks ago, he took a turn and declined very quickly. Jennifer came to visit and that's when I met her in person. She was an amazing support both for him and myself. Her compassion and beautiful heart was so evident and I am so grateful.
