I have been getting my artwork matted and framed here for 6 years now, and for a very good reason. The work is very professionally done and I can count on the staff for excellent advice. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get their artwork matted and framed.

On time, the selection of matt recommended made it stand out! Wrapped to protect it from the rain and included hooks. Wow!

Very informative and attentive staff. I had no idea what considerations went into framing a canvas print, but the staff at 17th Avenue Framing explained the entire process and then helped me pick out the perfect frame for the print and made sure it would compliment the design of our home. I chose a frame that they told me would have a slightly longer turn around time as it had to be brought into the shop, but they we’re able to get the finished product to me ahead of schedule. Amazing attention to detail and customer service. They’ll be our go to framing shop from now on.

Extremely expensive!! 500$ for a 12" X 16" custom frame!! No doubt the job quality is good, but this place is an absolute rip off

I am a 15 year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. I brought in my medals and patches to get framed. I called around Calgary and was recommended to go to 17th Ave Framing. When I dropped off my items to be mounted, I discussed with x 2 employees. We came up with a basic setup, picked the type of frame, glass and took photos. I made it very clear twice that if they can clean up my patches, which have small threads sticking up from natural wear and tear. They both said no worries, they will do it before they mount it. I also asked them to allow me to open the back after so I can remove my medals for Remembrance day ceremonies down the road. They also said no worries, they do this alot. It was 2 weeks before they called and I went to pick it up. I was quite excited to see it. The total cost was 430$ for a very basic 2 x 3 ft mounting and framing. I figured do this once and do it right, happy to pay the professionals what they are worth. When I showed up, everything looked great, except it was obvious the framer didn't clean up the small threads on the patches. I kept things professional and pointed it out to the employee (the two ladies who took my order weren't working that day). Then another senior employee/manager showed up too. He suggested that I take it home and open it myself to "clean up the thread". He also suggested that if they cut it the whole thing might unravel. That's absolutely not true. I was quite disappointed, as I was very clear in my instructions on day one. It's such a small job, to take a pair of scissors and cut away the loose threads. I would have done it myself. I explained this to the shop. They reluctantly said it will take a few days to do this. I said no problem, I can wait. I felt like the whole point was to get the professionals to do this and I picked the place for ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Now the shop appears to want to dump their lack of attention to detail to me. 2 days later, someone called me to let me know that when they opened the back to clean up the threads, there was extra glue which ripped the back and now asking me what to do. How am I supposed to know? They told me 2 courses of actions to remediate the situation. I picked the one that seemed the least amount of trouble for them. I went to pick up my frame after 2 weeks, so at this point it's been 4 weeks. The frame looked great. No more threads, and their stop gap fix appeared really nice. Cant tell the mounting background was ripped. Overall, if there wasn't the back and forth, I would have given 5 stars. I was quite annoyed that when the threads were present, they asked me to take it home and fix it myself. I am so glad I stood up and said no, as the backmounting paper would have ripped if I opened it myself. Overall, I am so happy with my medals and badges framed up nicely. It contained 15 years of my life that I am still trying to come to terms with. I wished the Framers would have paid more attention to detail instead of trying to dump it on me who clearly had no idea what to do. ADVOCATE for your consumer rights.

I had a lot of pieces framed recently and they all turned out perfectly! The ready-made frames in store are great options and look fantastic. The custom frames have so many options you are guaranteed to find the one that works. The staff worked with me, laying out all my art, and we took our time picking out the frames & mats together. All were done in a short amount of time and wrapped carefully for pick-up. They supplied nails and hooks as well. Perfect experience and I will always go back for framing. They sell cards, too!
